Size of a vegetable plot

Your vegetable plot should be  about 9 square metres (3m x 3m). 
  A square plot is best but if it  won't fit easily, you could use a rectangular plot. This is the ideal size but  don't worry if your garden is smaller.

The best direction  (aspect)

One side of your plot should  face north. With a rectangular plot, try to have one of the sides facing north.  Here is one way to find where north is.
Find North

Point your right arm towards  where the sun rises and your left arm towards where the sun sets. Then you are  facing north.

Draw the symbol, N, facing up the page to show the direction of north.
